The Ruger LCP MAX with Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip has quickly become one of HAWG’s hottest firearm models. Learn what makes this configuration different and explore our firearm-specific IWB and STASH holster options.
At HAWG Holsters, we do not add things just to sound fancy or check a marketing box. If it is part of the HAWG system, it needs to earn its place. That is exactly why we use UltiClip.
A holster can have great retention, a clean design, and solid craftsmanship, but if it does not stay where it is supposed to stay, none of that matters much. Everyday carry is about more than holding the firearm. It is about how the system works when you are getting dressed, moving through the day, sitting, standing, driving, bending, and living your life. That is where UltiClip shines.
It starts with security
One of the biggest reasons HAWG uses UltiClip is simple: it holds. A carry setup needs to stay put when you draw, when you move, and when life gets a little rough around the edges. That secure attachment is a big deal. A holster that shifts, slides, or pulls loose is not doing its job.
UltiClip helps anchor the holster so the system works the way it should. That means more confidence, less fussing, and a carry experience that feels more solid and dependable.
It makes tuckable carry make sense
A lot of folks want deep concealment without giving up access or comfort. That is another reason UltiClip fits so well with the HAWG approach. It supports tuckable carry, which gives customers more flexibility in how they dress and carry.
For some people, that means a work shirt tucked in. For others, it means a cleaner profile with less printing. Either way, it gives the customer more options, and around here we like gear that works in the real world, not just on paper.
It supports the way people really carry
No two customers carry exactly the same way. Some want clip-to-trouser performance. Some want a belt setup. Some want to fine-tune the way the holster rides. HAWG uses UltiClip because it supports that kind of flexibility.
The UltiClip 3+ works well for folks who want to clip to trousers or fabric. The UltiClip XL gives another option for customers who prefer belt carry. That kind of choice matters because everyday carry is personal. The right setup is the one that works for your body, your clothes, your routine, and your comfort level.
It matches the HAWG mindset
The HAWG brand has always been about practical innovation. We like products that solve real problems. We like gear that does more than look good in a photo. And we like systems that help people carry with confidence.
UltiClip fits that mindset because it is functional. It is not there for show. It is there to help the holster perform better. It is there to give the customer more control over concealment, stability, and day-to-day wear.
That is a big reason it has become such an important part of the HAWG system.
It is part of the full carry picture
At HAWG, we do not think of the holster as a standalone item. We think in terms of a carry system. On-body carry, pocket options, bag carry, vehicle storage, home access — it all works better when the core pieces are dependable.
The IWB holster is the heart of that system, and UltiClip plays a major role in making it work. If the holster is the engine, the clip is a big part of what keeps the whole thing running right.
Why it matters
At the end of the day, HAWG uses UltiClip for the same reason we make the rest of our gear the way we do: because it helps people carry better.
It offers:
a secure hold
tuckable concealment
practical versatility
real-world comfort
options for different carry styles
That is not hype. That is utility.
The bottom line
We use UltiClip because it helps turn a good holster into a better everyday carry system. It is secure. It is practical. It gives customers more flexibility. And it fits the HAWG way of doing things: no hogwash, no unnecessary extras, just gear that works.
That is why HAWG runs with UltiClip.
I get a lot of calls from new shooters, looking for the perfect pistol, perfect this, and perfect that. Those are all personal choices based on hand size, feel, needs, and budget. Therefore, I cannot tell them what would be the best fit for them. Sure, I can suggest what works for me and what I have seen many people succeed with. But as they say in interwebs-land, YMMV… “Your Mileage May Vary!” One thing I know makes for a better time at the range is the perfect “Going to the Range” bag. Before you jump up and say, “Wait a minute, the gear in your bag is your pistol, holster, belt…” let me interrupt and clarify. I didn’t say, “Perfect Range Bag,” I said, the perfect GOING TO THE RANGE bag.
A bag with these items is absolutely necessary to have in your vehicle when you head to the outdoor range. Here are my must-have items:
Dewalt Carbon Fiber Composite Staple Gun
Stapler that uses standard T50 staples.
Staples. 7/16 or 1/2 inch.
Target stands
Target backer. The backer needs to be cardboard that is sturdy enough to be stapled.
Wood uprights for the target, 1” by 2” 8 foot, cut in half
Targets. Check out the free ones from HAWG Holsters!
First Aid Kit
Duct tape. If it is windy and you are using paper targets, a small piece of duct tape can be used as a “washer.” Just tape the corners of the target, then staple through the tape.
Pliers. They come in handy for removing the staples from the wooden uprights! I see a lot of cuts from nails and staples at the range.
Earplugs. They can be cheap, and never go without them!
Spare Eye Protection
Marker
Target tape or pasters
5 Gallon Bucket
Oh yeah, and don’t forget your range bag with your firearm, holster, belt, and ammo. Be safe!If there is an Item you feel needs to be added, please let us know! Email me your recommendations. Our favorite recommendations might just get you a thank-you gift 😉 Print my Going to the Range bag checklist to make packing easier. If you are interested, here are my specific preferences. Here is what’s in my Going to the Range Bag:
Dewalt Carbon Fiber Composite Staple Gun
Arrow T50 1/2 in. Stainless-Steel Staples (1,000-Pack). I keep them in a plastic container.
Target Stands. Shane Moody and Thad Mueller made mine. Similar is Highwild Adjustable Target Stand Base for Paper Shooting Targets Cardboard Silhouette - H Shape.
Target Backer. I reuse cardboard from large shipping boxes. Make sure it is heavy-duty.
Wood uprights - 1 in. x 2 in. x 8 ft. Furring Strip Board from Home Depot
Targets. I use the Gunsite Option Target and free HAWG printable targets.
First Aid Only 442 All-Purpose Emergency First Aid Kit for Home, Work, and Travel, 298 Pieces. I added some items to mine. I will cover this in a future HAWG BLAWG.
Gorilla Duct Tape, 1.88" x 50yd, Black
Channellock 348 8-1/2-Inch Linesman Plier
Channellock 526 6-Inch Slip Joint Pliers | Utility Plier with Wire Cutter | Serrated Jaw
3M Disposable Earplugs
Eye Protection is a personal choice.
Sharpie Marker
Masking Tape
Roll of 1000 7/8" Square Target Pasters
I use a Milwaukee tool bag that organizes all this. It’s handy to have everything in one bag so that when I get to the range, I am ready to shoot instead of digging for everything I need.
5 Gallon Bucket. Sometimes you need a place for range trash, or you need a seat.
Exactly as advertised. Fits weapon perfectly. Ejects from weapon quickly.

Exceeded customer service
Short story about this purchase. On a Friday afternoon I was purchasing a new pistol and in a hurry, ordered a new HAWG holster for this pistol. After a few hours, I realized I ordered the wrong holster & clip. I messaged John that Friday evening, he called me himself Saturday morning and mailed out the correct holster & clip same day. If thats not customer service. This along with their outstanding product is why this was my 8th or 9th HAWG holster and ill never own any other brand

Great pocket holster for Keltec P32
This is the second STASH pocket holster I’ve bought. Every other pocket holster I’ve used has the same potential flaw. The holster is likely to come out of the pocket along with the pistol. The STASH holster eliminates that possibility by being able to push the holster off of the pistol with your thumb while drawing. You establish your fireing grip while simultaneously using your thumb to push the holster off the pistol. Ingenious design .

I sent him my Randall Diver 16 to make a custom Kydex sheath
I sent him my Randall Diver 16 to make a custom Kydex sheath, and I’m really impressed with how it turned out. The fit is perfect, and it has that solid click when the knife locks in, so I know it’s secure in the sheath. I mainly use this knife for boating, diving, and fishing, so I wanted something I could trust around the water and on the boat. A Randall isn’t a knife I’d send to just anybody, but after seeing his work, he’s the only guy I’d trust with mine. Great work and highly recommended.

Great pocket carry holster for the summertime! I hate pocket carry, but this is great when you otherwise wouldn't or couldn't carry.

Best Idea for in vehicle Mount ever!
Neat little Tool, even better holster mount for my truck. I really didn't want to drill any holes in my dash for magnetic mounts, don't have a center console just an arm rest and three seat belt buckles up front. Two of them never in use, well until now. Super easy to click it in and lay my hat over my gun for quick access.

Fit Gun Pefectly, Great Fit
fit gun perfectly, really snug, easy to pull tho. Have it set up on the seat belt mount, so didn't want it bouncing out on all these rough roads. Love it!
